The AISE project brings together an interdisciplinary team of experts in artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, agricultural technology, robotics engineering, information technology, and agronomic sciences, with the objective of developing innovative smart systems for the timely detection and monitoring of plant health. The project focuses on the development of automated technologies for the analysis of image and environmental data by means of deep learning models, as well as on the development of mobile and robotic solutions equipped with high-precision sensors for the recording of symptoms of insect and fungal infestations in tomato cultivation. In parallel, it integrates an intelligent, machine learning-based decision support system for integrated pest management and for the reduction in the use of chemical plant protection products, thereby contributing to the objectives of the European Green Deal for sustainable agriculture.
